Story

Dear Friends,
Alas, bad luck strikes again and with my co-presenter and marathon running mate, Adrian Chiles out of action for the Edinburgh marathon due to injury, sadly I've had to withdraw too.  As many of you may know, a broken toe meant the end of my marathon plans in London in April.  I seem destined not to run just now.

We will get there in the end so please don't give up on me!

When the next opportunity arises, I am planning to support the Down's Syndrome Association in Northern Ireland which has been doing fantastic work with children and adults.  At present they are trying to raise funds for a speech and language therapist for next year and need our help.  This speech and language therapist will make a huge impact in the lives of children and adults with Down’s syndrome in NI.

My boyfriend's younger brother, Peter had Down's Syndrome.  Sadly, Peter passed away four years ago but, through him, we have come to know well the wonderful people from the Down's Syndrome Association NI.  And it has been a delight to meet so many of those who are benefiting from the brilliant services and projects they run - their lives are truly transformed by the excellent work that goes on.

Watch this space.  These feet were made for running - sometime, somewhere!
