There are more people trapped in slavery today than at any point in human history, with best estimates suggesting there are 25 million people affected globally. Around a third of these victims are believed to be children. Retrak works with more than 35,000 children a year, reaching out to the highly vulnerable in addition to those already affected by exploitation. Our Lighthouses offer children specialist care, support and education, and where possible, we return children home to their families. Through our prevention projects we are empowering mothers in poor communities to protect their children from exploitation and achieve economic stability. This year, I am stepping up to the task of pledging 500 miles in order to raise vital funds towards Retrak's projects and help to unlock freedom for vulnerable children.
