I have chosen this charity,as everyone who knows me,knows that nearly 5 years ago my brother was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. He was only 33years old at the time. 

We had not really heard much about this cancer,but over the months soon came to realise how horrendous it is. We learnt that the cancer is extremely rare in someone of my brothers age, and it is a rapid growing cancer, with not a great survival rate. We watched him suffer and fight for many months in hospital,not being able to swallow saliver, let alone eat or drink. We nearly lost him a couple of times, and the operation to remove some stomach and all the oesophagus removed was a very long and risky operation. 

 My brother was lucky enough to be young and healthy (non smoker which helped significantly) and he survived.  Even though he has survived he struggles with his health and putting on weight and life is a lot different for him.

We need to be more aware of this cancer as usually by the time symptoms are noticed it is already at a terminal stage. We need to raise money so that research will continue. Of course this applies to all types of cancer,however this is one that is close to my heart. I am grateful every single day that cancer didn't take my dear brother, but others are not so fortunate. So hopefully I will be able to raise a little bit of money to help ochre charity.
