You may have heard that this winter the seals around our coastline have had it tough! British Divers Marine Life Rescue have been flat out rescuing and rehabilitating seal pups. As a charity they have very limited resources and rely on their hard-working volunteers. No sick pup is left unassisted, and a huge increase in call-outs has made it more and more of a challenge to find sanctuaries for the sick animals. The charity now really really needs all the help it can get to sustain this upward trend and is running a Seal Appeal to aid this. 

BDMLR also help and rescue seals all through the year too, for example where possible helping some of the 300+ seals now found to be living with plastic waste entangled around their necks.

They also assist, rescue, and where possible release other marine animals in distress, for example the humpback whale that became entangled in fishing gear off South Devon last summer.

I will be attempting to walk with Jessica Hirons and other fundraisers for a tough two days along some of the hardest part of the Cornish coast path, so your support will be much appreciated.
