Story
When I gave birth to my twins in the Princess Royal Hospital in 2014, my son Christopher died shortly after birth and my daughter Valentina fell ill 24 hours later and was placed in the Special Care Baby Unit where she was cared for around the clock for almost 2 weeks.
The compassion, care, empathy and kindness shown by the doctors, nurses and midwives to my babies, my husband and me really helped me through the most horrendous time in my life. I am so very grateful for that but especially for saving my daughter's life.
Seeing first hand all the equipment that is needed and used in the hospitals and wanting to give something back, I really want to help raise funds to buy a preterm baby X-Ray machine in the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton as it is a vital piece of equipment. I would very much like to help in some way sick babies and their families. I am also doing this in memory of Baby Christopher, it will be my way of remembering him. I have been waiting for the right opportunity to celebrate him and I feel this is it.
So what a way to do it - dangling down 450ft from a rope will be my way of saying thank you and doing something for my baby boy!
