This January, the RED community will be getting active every single day, to support their mental wellbeing. Whether it's running 5k, or walking to work a new way, a morning swim or just taking the bike for a spin - thousands of people around the UK will be kick-starting their 2019 in the most positive way. RED is proud to be partnering with leading mental health charity Mind, with all funds raised helping local Minds to continue their vital work to ensure no-one has to face a mental health problem alone.
Anyone who knows me will know that I am not the most active of people! Chronic back pain and a job that involves a lot of sitting has meant that I tend to be found stationary!
For RED January, I am going to walk 2.1 miles each day...with the aim of walking my usual 'drive to work' across the month! (my journey to work is 66 miles!). This may not seem a huge challenge for many, but for me this will be the most walking I have done since experiencing chronic back pain over the last two years.
When the weather is dry, I will be accompanied by our gorgeous Spanish rescue hound, Pepo. No chance of him joining me if it's cold or rainy though!
