Fundraising for Tiny Lives
Story
I am running this years Great North Run to raise money for Tiny Lives who are a charity that support babies and their families who spend time in the Special Care Baby Unit at the RVI, Newcastle.
My friends son, Rafa, spent 17 weeks there in 2015 when he was born at 23 weeks weighing just 1lb 3oz (580g). He is now a wonderful 2 year old boy who is an inspiration to us all.
Tiny Lives is a charitable trust that helps to care for 800+ premature and sick newborn babies and their families each year. It supports the Newcastle Neonatal Service at Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary that cares for babies from across the North East and Cumbria.
The money raised by supporters of Tiny Lives helps to fund vital staff training, a full time physiotherapist, travel incubators, bonding aides, positioning aides and christening gowns. They also provide sticker books, progress charts and memory boxes for parents.
