Story

This fundraising page has been set up by Charlotte and Pete, parents to baby George Arthur Townsend, who was born in the George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton, on November 12, 2021, alongside his beautiful twin sister Emilie May Townsend. The twins were born very prematurely and were immediately transferred to the Neonatal unit at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) in Coventry, where Emilie continues her journey. George sadly passed away on December 3rd, as he turned 3 weeks old. He is much loved and will always be remembered by us as being a true fighter. We miss him every day, but he lives on in his precious little sister, who is helping us to stay strong during this time. Using an Abi cooling cot helped me and my partner Pete massively and if it wasn't for the Abi cooling cot I would have never got the chance to spend more time with my baby boy and let me, Pete and our families say their goodbyes. The Neonatal unit at Coventry have been utterly incredible, and both and Pete and I don't feel that we would ever be able to find the words to thank them for their support since our babies went into their care. We would love to hopefully raise enough money to donate a cold cot in memory of our beautiful son George to help and give bereaved families the chance to say their goodbyes. To help a charity that helped us in our darkest time that no parents should ever have to face. Go #teamgeorge
