Coffee and Cake for Ukraine

Fundraising for Disasters Emergency Committee
raised of Β£2,500 target
More than 10 million people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they need shelter, food and water. Donate now.

Update 26 March:

The next draw for a winner of a Medovik cake will be done when we reach Β£1,600

Every donation of a minimum Β£5 will be entered in the draw. Please leave your email (it can only been seen by me).

Update 22 March:

Next coffee morning will take place this Thursday (24th), in my garden 9.15-11.00. Coffee and Ukrainian cakes.

I now have delicious local Malmesbury Honey as well as local eggs for the cakes, all generously donated by the community.

Finally, as we reached Β£1,000 yesterday a winner of a Medovik cake was drawn. The winner this time is Karen & David Drake.  The next draw will take place when we reach Β£1,200 (minimum Β£5 and include your email - not shown to the public).

Update 12 March:

This morning I delivered some cakes to the big cake sale and coffee morning in Malmesbury, also held in aid of the DEC.  It was amazing to see the effort that had gone into organising the event and all the bakes provided by the community. Through the day I’ve been thinking of ways to carry on the fundraising.  I have a few ideas; first of all let’s try this: When the total reaches Β£1,000 I will draw a winner. The winner will get a Medovik cake, an eight layered honey cake with sour cream frosting. This delicious cake is popular in both Ukraine and Russia.

To enter the cake draw, please make a minimum donation of Β£5 and be sure to leave your name and email address when asked (this does not have to be made public).

The first draw took place when the total was Β£601 - all donations made thereafter will be entered in the next draw.

The winner will be contacted and we will agree time and date for collection of the cake (or can be delivered locally around Malmesbury.)

Together with my friend Amy, I am hosting a coffee morning on 9 March, 9.15-10.30 to raise funds.  (Please get in touch for my address.)  I will also challenge myself to make a  Medovik cake (8 layer honey cake - Google it! - it looks delicious) and everybody who donates by 9 March will be entered into a raffle for the cake.  Please send an  email  to or message me to enter.
