Story

The Communications Team is raising money for The Co-operative Bank's 50:50 Challenge with Refuge, by completing 50Km between us in one day on 11th May!

The Co-operative Bank is proud to continue supporting Refuge, our charity partner of seven years, helping women and children experiencing domestic abuse. Domestic abuse is the biggest issue affecting women and children in our society today. It affects one in four women at some point in their lives and around 750,000 children every year. The Co-operative Bank is commemorating Refuge's 50th Anniversary with a fundraising target of £5,000 in May. Our 50:50 fundraiser challenges everyone to choose their own/team's fundraising activity, incorporate the number 50 in it & raise at least £50. For example, you could:- Cycle 50km- 50 push-ups- or even crochet for 50 minutes every day for 50 days! You can ask your friends and family to support your 50:50 challenge by donating towards your target. £52 could help Refuge provide a safe night's stay in emergency accommodation for a woman and her children fleeing abuse.
