Climbing Kilimanjaro · 10 July 2017

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We decided as a family to climb Kilimanjaro this year and, as so many people have asked which charity we are doing it for, we thought we would do it for my nephew, the girls' cousin, Alexander, who has been suffering from an aggressive form of Crohn's these last 20 months and has spent most of that time in hospital. Alexander has undergone a lot of treatment and still needs more, in fact he could suffer from this for a very long time. Research into such areas as immunotherapy is proving interesting and hopeful for people like Alexander and we would therefore like to help raise funds for this kind of research.  Climbing Kilimanjaro is no easy task and I have to say I am rather nervous about it, but the kids are keen, the flights are booked, we're getting the kit together and so there's no going back! We are leaving on the 4th of July.
