We raise funds for asylum seekers, refugees to enable them to rebuild their lives

Story

We are three undergraduate psychology students at the University of Warwick who are conducting a project into helping raise awareness for refugees, particularly those in the local area.

Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre was formed in 2000 to support vulnerable refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants within the city. They help these people rebuild their lives and achieve their full potential, supporting their integration into the city’s local communities and encouraging them to contribute fully to the life of Coventry; all while in safety and with dignity. To achieve this, they offer a range of free and impartial advice which includes therapy, English lessons, housing support, employment and legal advice.

About the charity

We welcome and empower all asylum seekers, refugees and other migrants to enable them to rebuild their lives and achieve their potential. Supporting over 3,500 people a year, these include unaccompanied children, destitute families, victims of modern slavery and those escaping conflict zones from around the world. To overcome the challenges our clients face, we offer a range of services which include employment and immigration advice, to therapy, English classes, social groups and much more.
