Citi are aiming to raise 350,000 to enable Guide Dogs to create 178 life-changing partnerships. With our support, Guide Dogs will match people with sight loss on the London waiting list to guide dogs or volunteer sighted guides. About Our London Charity Partner Guide Dogs Losing your sight shouldn't also mean losing your independence, confidence and freedom, but unfortunately, our world is a tough place when you cant see. In the UK, there are 360,000 people who are blind or partially sighted and half of them do not leave their homes alone. Guide Dogs provide life-changing services:- Guide Dogs- Volunteer sighted guides (My Guides)- Support for children and young people- Orientation and mobility specialists- Technology- Support for friends and family.
A courageous team of 9 colleagues from the GWM have decided to take on an extremely challenging challenge in order to support our charity of the year.
On the 9th and 10th of July your brave team will be taking on 24 peaks in the Lake District hiking 51 km over the course of 2 days. The challenge is rated as Extreme!! Each peak is over 2,400ft with 4 of the peaks being the highest in the Lake District!
The expectation is that the team will be trekking for over 12 hours each day to cover the distances.
Day one covers the first nine peaks:
1. Bowfell – 2,959 ft
2. Esk Pike – 2,903 ft
3. Great End – 2,985 ft
4. Ill Crag – 3,067 ft
5. Broad Crag – 3,064 ft
6. Scafell Pike – 3,208 ft
7. Lingmell – 2,647 ft
8. Great Gable – 2,949 ft
9. Green Gable – 2,627 ft
Day two is when we summit the remaining fifteen peaks:
10. Red Screes – 2,545 ft
11. Dove Crag – 2,598 ft
12. Hart Crag – 2,696 ft
13. Fairfield – 2,864 ft
14. Seat Sandal – 2,414 ft
15. Dollywaggon Pike – 2,814 ft
16. High Crag – 2,441 ft
17. Nethermost Pike – 2,923 ft
18. Helvellyn – 3,116 ft
19. Browncove Crags – 2,818 ft
20. Lower Man – 3,034 ft
21. Whiteside – 2,831 ft
22. Raise – 2,896 ft
23. Stybarrow Dodd – 2,765 ft
24. White Stones – 2,608 ft
We are aiming to raise a group total of GBP 6750 so we would appreciate any and all support, it will be what keeps the team going in the darker moments of our trek!
