As with many disabilities, those who live with a condition need support, help and guidance from outside sources. Autism is no different. Despite the recent increase in media coverage and a growing understanding of Autism, much work needs to be done to help those with the disability and their families to cope with life. The National Autistic society, whilst certainly not the only Autism/Asperger charity, do a fantastic job in promoting positive and insightful information about this disability. With very few paid employees the charity functions with the help of some truly amazing volunteers who give so much effort and emotional support.
Our amazing daughter is Autistic. For her to live with the disability can be a great challenge and it can be difficult for her family too. The National Autistic Society (Merton branch) provide support, care and invaluable information in helping us provide for a stable and positive future for our daughter. Please help them to do this for more people by kindly donating to my cause.
For an unknown reason (most likely bravado and alcohol fueling) I will be swimming the Exmoor open water swim on the 30th September 2017. It's a 4km lap of Wimbleball lake and I'm doing it without a wetsuit. Still, it's all in a good cause...
