A London Walk on Crime, Protest and Punishment · 27 December 2018 ·

The Cumberland Road house currently houses 5 single homeless men. It is now on the market to be sold. This appeal is to raise enough money to buy the property so that those men and anyone else who walks through our doors do not become homeless again.

Story

The Walk

Meet us at Moorgate at 10:30am for a stroll through the City of London 2,000 years of history. The walk will be on Crime, Protest and Punishment, from the Romans to today. Hear about, a ghost, who tried to blow up St Pauls, who was burnt at the stake, why are the City of London police unique and much more.

... about us

We are a London based charity providing accommodation-based support to the homeless. We provide one to one support to our clients to take up employment or employment related training and move on to more permanent accommodation. This is a place where they could transform their lives. Our typical accommodation comprises of a use of a single room within a shared house. Most importantly, we provide friendships and belonging to those who are lonely and desperate. We become their new family. 50% of our clients take up employment or employment related training. Less than 1% goes back to the street. Our appeal...Just Homes has the use of 7 properties across Newham with a capacity to support 60 clients at a time. The property in question is a 5-bed room house that currently houses 5 single men. If we don't raise enough money to buy the property by the 1st of April 2019, all the residents will become street homeless once again.
