Story
If you know me then you probably know I love running. If you know me well then you probably know that I love animals, and my favourite animal is the cheetah. Unfortunately, human activity means that cheetahs are losing their natural habitat and their populations are decreasing. We can't just sit by and let this happen. Therefore I will be running the 2019 Great North Run for the Cheetah Conservation Fund (less than a month before I take on the Berlin Marathon).
Cheetah Conservation Fund UK is calling for its supporters to join forces and help raise enough funds to help save the cheetah from extinction. The race is on to save the cheetah and, with your help, it can be won.
Cheetahs were once found thriving in numbers of more than 100,000, across a range that stretched through Africa and Asia; today, just 7,100 remain in the wild, occupying 9% of their natural range. The cheetah is now Africa's most endangered big cat.
By working together we can save a species, what an amazing concept!
