Story
On the 16th March I will be biking 60 miles to each Methodist church in the Peterborough circuit. Crazy i know... However I am doing this because I have seen for myself how lives are transformed by All We Can's partners as a international devlopment charity that seeks to see peoples potential fulfilled.
As a movement that began over 80 years a go to respond to the refugee crisis in Europe, All We Can continue to work for and with people who find themsevles displaced around the world.
One area of particular focus is Zaatari refugee camp.
The back story behind this camp goes something like this. Conflicts and high levels of violence have plagued the Syrian Arab Republic for years, forcing Syrian refugees to flee to neighbouring Jordan. In addition to 6,5 million Syrians internally displaced by violence, over 4 million refugees fled to neighbouring countries. To date, there are over 670,000 Syrian refugees registered in Jordan. Of these, 78,417 are currently living in Za’atari refugee camp, many of whom have been displaced for over five years.
The money raised will Enhance resilience and psychosocial well-being of vulnerable Syrian children and provide improved support to working parents/guardians in Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan.
