Cycle Odyssey 2016 · 18 June 2016

We collect used bicycles in the UK and we ship them, in containers, to people who need them in Africa. Some people living in rural African communities walk miles everyday to reach water, school, work or healthcare. Bikes are a sustainable mode of transport and help change lives for many families.

Story

On 21st June I will be cycling from the most northern point in Norway to the most southern point in Spain.  Roughly 5,000 miles of leg power!

It seemed a no brainer to raise money for a charity that uses bikes to transform lives in Africa by reducing waste in this country.  We may use our bikes to commute to work or get out at the weekend, but for a person in Africa it can mean access to an education, a livelihood and better health.

I am excited by the highlights and apprehensive of the challenges of this trip, but I know that I am incredibly lucky to have this opportunity.

I'm aiming to raise at least £1 per mile - roughly 5000 miles.
