We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

David died suddenly on 15th March 2022: 3 weeks short of his 20th birthday. David had lived with Type 1 Diabetes for 7 years and had never really struggled with it. He was in his second year of University and living life to the full when he became ill with what appeared to be a sickness bug. In fact David was suffering from DiabeticKetoAcidosis (DKA) and died before he could be hospitalised and treated. If he had got to hospital in time he would almost certainly have been saved.

As David’s parents and twin sister, we are devastated by his loss and will always miss him enormously. We are doing what we can to raise funds to help Diabetes Uk raise awareness of DKA and the risks involved and to help them push for better support for young adults with Type 1 diabetes in particular. This will be an ongoing campaign.

Thank-you for reading this and for any support you are able to give us.
