On 31 August we received the devastating news that our little sister, Daisy, had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Sarcoma, a rare type of cancer of the tissues. Since then she has undergone every body scan possible and 3 surgical procedures, including 2 biopsies, removal of an ovary, a lymph node and bone marrow, as well as a couple of blood transfusions.
Daisy has just completed her third of nine aggressive cycles of chemo (as of the 28th October 2017). She has now lost all of her hair and cannot leave the house without a wheelchair. Throughout all of this she has put up the biggest fight and will not let whatever is thrown at her bring her down, no matter how difficult it has been.
Daisy would not be where she is today without the help of the Teenage Cancer Trust – Ward 27. They have been there for her from the start and gone above and beyond to make Daisy and her family as comfortable as possible throughout the whole process. In Dais’ words: “They have a solution to everything!”
The Teenage Cancer Trust work solely on donations, and that is why, next May, Katie and I will be running three half marathons in two weeks to raise money for them.
Now anyone that knows the two of us will know we are not the athletic type, and we would much rather binge watch Game of Thrones than we would partake in any form of exercise. But all of our sore feet and achy legs will be nothing compared to what Daisy is going through in her fight against cancer.
So please donate anything you can to help such an amazing charity that work tirelessly to help people like Daisy.
Thank you! Xx
