Story
I am fortunate enough to have been part of SportsAble from its humble
beginnings as a local disabled sports club, to the present day as a nationally recognised organisation as a pioneer in the Disability Sports Movement.
Having been a member of SportsAble, since the age of 11, many of the members have seen me develop from the young boy undergoing limb lengthening surgery, to my teenage years of having the arduous task of finding a swimming club who would give me a chance to train, until just recently standing on top of the podium receiving a medal at a National Swimming Championship.
Though the ethos of the club is to “Provide Sporting Opportunities for the Disabled”, I have learnt that there were many steps needed to achieve this goal.
