Story
I’m taking part in the Grand Depart Classic, riding the whole of the first road stage of the 2019 Tour de France, the week before the pros.
I’ve signed up to this to push my limits, in order to save men’s lives, but I need your help.
I'm not an experienced road cyclist - growing up in London I used to cycle lots on mountain bikes or Hybrids. From my first paper round, commuting to work or just getting around, I loved it. For a number of years now I've been living an inactive lifestyle and it's about time that I really push myself, and for what better cause than Prostate Cancer UK. I'll be training hard and posting updates and any donations you are able to give will be hugely appreciated.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Every hour one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 10,800 men every year. 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime. Ignoring prostate cancer won't beat it. Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition – to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.
Your donation will make an impact, so please see this as your chance to do something amazing. It could be the best thing you do today. Thank you!
You can see my workouts and follow progress on Strava here: https://www.strava.com/athletes/37148983 - I'm keeping it all public.
I'll be posting updates every now and again here with a little more info on big milestones and other related news. There's no hiding, I'm going to give this absolutely everything I've got!
