The Luca Foundation
Campaign by Baby Lifeline (RCN 1006457)
The Luca Foundation has been set up in memory of Luca, who was born sleeping in June 2012. Its mission is to provide a cold cuddle cot for every maternity unit in the UK that needs one and to fund training for the prevention of stillbirth.

Story

I met Sharon a few years back now,  as our children attended nursery together and are firm friends. Little did I know that there was a deep sadness behind those beautiful eyes.  Upon hearing her story, and having helped other close friends with their losses, I’ve decided to help Sharon & Jas raise money for their beautiful charity in memory of their son.  I miscarried with my 4th baby very early on & couldn’t even begin to know the hardship of having to give birth to a sleeping baby.  ☹️  Please help The Luca Foundation help other bereaved parents of angel babies x

Sharons story:

Our first child, our son Luca was stillborn June 2012. A parents worst nightmare is to lose their child. We were beyond devastated, our world had fallen apart. From the moment he died on the Monday inside my womb, on the first day of my maternity leave, to the Thursday when I gave birth to him naturally, everything was a daze. He was perfect. There was nothing wrong him nor me. We were not ready for the next blow....the time we had to hand him over, knowing we would never see him again. We got to spend the night with Luca, however the next morning we were told that we did not have long left with him. Had we had a cold cuddle cot we could have spent more time saying goodbye to Luca and making memories with him.
