I have the privilege of being given a Gold Bond place for the 2018 London Marathon by Ty Hafan. 

Ty Hafan provides comfort, care and support to life-limited children and their families in Wales, helping them make the most of the time they have left together. Ty Hafan is a much-needed source of strength, respite and support for the whole family. From diagnosis to bereavement and beyond, they take their support right into the heart of the family home. 

Ty Hafan is not part of the health service and receives less than 5% statutory funding each year towards the £4 million needed to provide care and support to life-limited children and their families throughout Wales.

I chose to apply to Ty Hafan for a London Marathon fundraising place as its headquarters are located in the village I live in in South Wales. Over the last 5 years I have often ran past the entrance to Ty Hafan on my local running route. As a parent of two girls, this has often got me thinking about the work that Ty Hafan do and how essential the support they provide must be to families in challenging situations. As such, I am really keen to raise lots of money for Ty Hafan to support the excellent work that they do.
