A number of years ago, my father-in-law was diagnosed with vascular dementia. Roll forwards to January 2023 and Melvyn had contracted COVID and was in hospital. Sadly, he didn't recover and passed away not long after. 

His last few years of living with dementia were difficult for everyone within the family which led me to take part in London Landmarks 2023 for the Alzheimer's Society. Having completed it, which was an achievement in itself, I've decided to give it another go in 2024 - this time for Dementia UK.
