Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Why this Challenge???.......I lost my Step Dad, Don in 2004 to a heart condition. I was still at a relatively young age to lose a massively influential character in my life and a huge part of my upbringing. I always said one day i will look to do a massive challenge to remember him and doing so raising money for a charity. My best friend approached me and asked if I was up for Mount Kilimanjaro and honestly I was on the fence, then i opened up the itinerary for the challenge just out of interest........ there it was a massive sign, a coincidence maybe, call it what you will but the day I complete this epic adventure. The day I return back down having completed Mount Kilimanjaro will be the 4th October!!!! The anniversary of Dons Death! RIP DPB
Why this Charity???........The most obvious choice under the circumstances described above. British Heart Foundation helped support Don and give him more years with us, its now my turn to try and give back. The money I will raise will help fund research that could save lives and transform the lives of people and their families that are affected by heart conditions!
Why Get Simba Home???....... Well thats just me being my silly self! I have a Simba soft toy who is coming on this challenge with me. One because I'm a big kid and want the company :) Two Africa is where he is from so i'm taking him home. Not only to Africa but up to the highest point so he can look over his pride lands and regain his perch on "Pride Rock'.
