Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I met James for the first time several years ago when I turned up to take his lovely daughter Elizabeth on holiday down to Cornwall for a few days. We got on straight away, and over the time that I knew him I developed a huge respect for him. He was without doubt one of the most interesting and likable people I have ever met, always full of interesting and colorful stories about his earlier life which was full of incident and sometimes very hard. But whatever adversity he may have suffered in his earlier life, the one thing that meant more to him than anything was the love he had for his two daughters Elizabeth & Becky and i am privileged to know them both.
Then a while ago he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and his whole world changed, he managed to be accepted on a trial for a new treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and after treatment he went into remission. During this time he was supported not only by his family but by the Cure Leukemia charity based in Birmingham who were absolutely fantastic, he turned his attention to doing all he could to aid their fundraising efforts and had a considerable impact with his indefatigable spirit and attitude.
Sadly earlier this year the Leukemia returned more aggressive than ever and sadly James passed away in July. We had arranged this skydive when James was still in remission and we vowed we would do it not only for the charity but in memory of James as well....
Thank you for your support for this most worthy of causes.
