Story
This year I am taking part in the Rhino Ark E-Safari fundraiser. Rhino Ark carries out essential conservation work in Kenya, protecting endangered species such as Elephants, Rhino and Mountain Bongo. Our goal is to raise £6090 by covering the entire distance from the Rhino Ark offices in London to the top of Mount Kenya.
The funds we raise will go to supporting the Mount Kenya Electric Fence project. This program aims to prevent deforestation and habitat
loss in the region, by building a protective fence around the Mount Kenya national park.
The Covid-19 crisis has placed increased strain on forests and wildlife in Kenya. Due to the economic downturn, many communities have become more reliant on natural resources for food, fuel and shelter. Illegal logging and land clearance have spread, and this has accelerated the loss of wildlife and biodiversity in the region.
Rhino Ark is taking a holistic approach to environmental conservation, working with communities to improve their incomes in order to reduce pressure on local forests. With over 30 years of experience protecting
wildlife, they are experts in this field.
I would ask you to support this campaign so that we can safeguard these essential habitats for future generations.
