Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit 'The Forgotten Tsunami' page supported by the Northern Ireland fund-raising team of David McCullough, Philip Johnston, Jonathan Ritchie, Paul Howell, Lindsay Gillespie & Arthur Williamson
On 26th December 2004 a terrible calamity hit the seacoast of Tamil Nadu in South East India. In minutes nearly 9000 people along the coastline were drowned and many thousands more lost everything they possessed. The whole world was shaken by the Tsunami catastrophe. Five years on the people of the small fishing village of Chinnakuppam are still rebuilding their lives
Christian Missions Charitable Trust (CMCT) are committed to building 140 new homes for the people of Chinnakuppam at a cost of £3000 per home. The 40 houses that have already been built are now occupied by many families
As part of a fund-raising team here in Northern Ireland we have set ourselves the target of raising funds to build 12 more homes in 2010 - one every month - at a total cost of £36,000
YOU CAN HELP US TO REACH THIS TARGET. PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY !!
This year we are organizing a number of different fund-raising events including
Table quiz Friday 19th February 2010
Belfast marathon (relay teams) Monday 3rd May 2010
Charity Golf day Wednesday 12th May 2010
Please visit our Facebook page 'The Nightmare of the forgotten Tsunami' for more information
We would really appreciate if you could donate to this project. Small and large gifts make a big difference
Many Thanks
Northern Ireland CMCT 'Forgotten Tsunami' Team
