Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My dad, Dr Dean Millican has been an Anaesthetist in the NHS for over 20 years. Since the Coronavirus outbreak, he (like many others in the industry) has been working SO hard to keep the James Paget hospital going and is continuing to treat the ill, even after battling the virus himself a few weeks ago.

Throughout my life, one thing I have always known is my Dad’s love for music. Most of his favourites have become mine and as I got older, he would tell me stories of the bands he used to be in throughout University and how he wished he had the time to start one of his own. Jump forward to April 2017 and his wish came true. Although the name of his band took a while to be established, ‘De-Cadence’ has officially been adopted. Dad has written and composed over 30 songs and at the grand age of 61, his dream is to make his music known.

During his time in isolation and with the help (virtual of course) from music producer ‘Matthew Anniss’ and his other band members who are also workers in the NHS, he has written and produced a little tune called ‘Something New’ with the aim of raising as much money as possible for the NHS.

Any donations would be HUGELY appreciated and it will make my Dad’s life. I’m so proud of him and hope he will finally get the recognition he deserves!
