Story
At St Christopher's Hospice our vision is of a world in which all dying people and those close to them have access to the care and support they need, when and wherever they need it. We rely on wonderful supporters like you to help us to generate thousands of pounds through supporting our Bluebell Walk.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
Jennifer was just 27 years of age when she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastasised melanoma in April 2013 and after putting up an incredibly brave fight, she tragically died just 7 months later under the expert care of St Christopher’s Hospice. She had been just recently married and had a young son William, who was only 2 1/2 years old when she passed away.
During the latter stages of her illness she was looked after by the amazing staff at St Christopher’s Hospice who provided incredible care for both Jennifer and her family. She was always treated with the utmost care and dignity by everyone involved, her needs were absolutely paramount and her wishes respected at all times. Without fail, they always seemed to know what was needed and when, in order to help Jennifer in the best possible way. They were also incredibly supportive of her family and friends.
St Christopher’s do such important and essential work that is sadly needed by so many, I really don’t know how we would have managed without them. It is only through the generosity of everyone who donates that they can keep going to provide all of the valuable work that they do. There are so many demands on us all now, but it really doesn’t matter how small the donation, it all adds up and anything really will make a difference and be so very gratefully received.
Jennifer was such a beautiful, bright and much loved daughter, wife, mum, niece, cousin and friend to so many and is still terribly missed by us all. Through darkness diamonds shine their brightest light 💎⭐️
