We raise funds and commission research to create a gene therapy for CdLS

Story

CDLS is a rare genetic condition that presents children with a wide range of difficult physical and behavioural challenges.Hope for Hasti is funding cutting-edge research to develop a gene therapy for this rare condition which will dramatically improve their quality of life.Working closely with some of the brightest minds in genetics, we can change the lives of the children affected by this illness. To achieve our goal, we need your help.

My name is Declan Maclean nickname DECKIE  am only 9 years old as a lot of you will be aware I walked a total of 68 miles barefoot last year (2020) and raised over £10,000 it was just amazing.

I am wanting to walk from Jedburgh to Edinburgh castle.       ( finishing at the castle for my birthday) 15th May 2021

I am not allowed to walk it all barefoot mum and dad have both said 😓 but am allowed to walk the last day barefoot.

I will start my walking on the 24th April 2021  leaving Jedburgh to head to Earlston ( trainers on) 14.2 miles

Then on the 1st May Earlston to Oxton ( trainers on ) 12.6 miles

On the 8th May Oxton to Pathhead ( trainers on) 10.4 miles

Finishing on the 15th for my birthday Pathhead to Edinburgh castle 12 miles. Am only allowed to walk up the royal mile to the castle in barefoot cause I’ve not been very well.

Any support will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much from everyone so far who has helped me achieve this fantastic amount to help Chris Brannigan and his daughter help Hasti and others.
