Story
On June 12 until June 20, we will take part in the 'Ride Across Britain' event. Around 650 cyclists – including Olympic gold medallist and adventurer James Cracknell – will aim to cover more than 1,000 miles from John o’ Groats to Land’s End in just nine days.
We have been training for around four months, and have been supported by the Warwickshire Health and Racquets Club which has allowed them to use their fitness facilities in the run up to the event.
We are aiming to raise at least £3,000 for Warwick Hospital’s Breast Unit Fund – and the Helen Clark Suite, which opened in March 2010.
The unit includes a service where patients can undergo mammography (breast imaging) with the latest state of the art digital equipment along with an outpatient clinic area where patients with suspected breast disease can be seen and assessed in one location.
The charity is now asking people to dig deep to help raise £40,000 towards the finishing touches for the Helen Clark Suite.
The money raised will be used to finish the suite to a high specification as well as to purchase equipment.
We would both be very grateful for any donation, large or small, and hopefully we can do our bit for a very worthy cause.
Thank you,
Adam and Steve
