Never before has space been so important. With social distancing firmly in place, our staff rooms and communal places, such as our restaurants, have reduced capacity meaning less room for people to take breaks. But space is also increasingly important so people have places to go to reflect in quiteness and privacy.
We plan to create two green havens within our hospitals grounds that can be used for staff and patients. With places to sit and plenty of flowers, these areas will provide stillness within the busy life of a hospital.
We will be honouring Captain Sir Tom Moore through the development of the PRH main courtyard, which we would like to call Captain Toms Courtyard. We are also planning to develop the mound outside the Ward Block at RSH to create Captain Toms Garden . Captain Sir Tom was a complete inspiration to us all and he did more than anyone to raise vital funds to support NHS patients, staff and volunteers during this crisis, when help was most needed.
