Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June 2005 a dive team called Dizzy Divers participated in the first mass dive event to raise funds for learning disability charity Mencap. The team undertook a series of dives at Stewartby Lake in Bedford. This was by kind permission of The Stewartby Water Sports Club. (Thank you)

The dive team was made up of some members of MKSAC, and the balance from volunteers coerced from Dive Central and some friends (12 buddy pairs) who took it in turn to dive over a period of 24 hours.

Divers were asked to raise a minimum of £50 sponsorship, many of the team surpassed this figure and we are pleased to announce that at last count the total raised was over £4000.00 (27th June 2005) The money raised will help Mencap support children and adults with a learning disability, their families and carers, and also, on a more personal note, will help fund further Disabled Diver Training through Dizzy Divers.

I take this opportunity to publicly thank all those who took part, the support team, (partners etc) and of course all of you who sponsored any of the members. Thank You Gordon Bee To find out more, please call Gordon Bee on 0771 406 6435 or visit www.dizzydivers.org It is not too late to offer your support.
