Story

Our father, Francis John Clare, recently passed away following a long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). During the last months of his life, Dad was twice hospitalised with pneumonia and spent several weeks in the care of the amazing staff on Bronte Ward at Medway Hospital. During these times we saw first-hand how the staff care for the well-being of their patients and their families; the dignity and understanding with which they treated Dad in his final days will remain with us forever and made his passing as bearable as possible.

As a family, we would like to do something positive to reciprocate the kindness of the staff during this difficult time and we are asking for donations to be made to Bronte Ward in Dad's memory. We will be coming up with various fun (and not so fun...) ways to raise funds but please feel free just to donate in his honour!

Dominic will be running the London Marathon in April and we will update the page further when other events and challenges are confirmed.

With thanks,

Dominic, Paul, Francesca and Ellie
