Story

In 2009 my brother was killed in a senseless act of violence. My Mum and Stepdad set up a charity in his name, it helps to educate young people and the community as a whole about personal responsibility and the dangers of drink related violence. They have taken their work to schools and colleges all around and into prisons as well. They have done great work on restorative justice and helped promote organ donation… you can read all about their brilliant work on the website.

I am amazed I agreed to this run, I am not a runner… more of an ambler… a spectator… a lazy sod. I only agreed because I was slightly bullied and guilt tripped and because it was pointed out to me that my fund raising idea… a) might cost more than it will raise b) will not happen for another year c) is a bit daft… so here I am running 10k, so here I am asking you for money to support the work my folks do. Please give a little/lot and help me raise a massive wadge of cash to support the charity… if between me and you guys we raise a really nice big amount then I will not bother you all again for ages… deal? Good!  Let’s go wild.

It is also worth pointing out that if anyone is around in Burnley that day it will be very funny… I am not a runner… I am really not a runner… I am going to invent a new shade of red.

About the charity

It helps to educate young people about the futility of violence in our streets. We produce education packs and resources to encourage positive and responsible behaviour among young adults.
