My story:

The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity providing free lifesaving Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) for the critically ill and injured of Essex,  Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.

It costs £6.5 million every year to cover charitable costs and aircraft operations. There is no lottery funding and limited support from the Government, so the majority of funds come from donations. 

So why am I doing this.....I honestly don't know other than to make 2017 the year that I do something remarkable while raising money for a brilliant charity! I don't do things by halves so this is how I have ended up here! If anyone is interested then I will tell the story of my then 3 year old Joey donating to their buckets many years ago....left me in awe of them even more!

Thankfully none of my family or friends that I am aware of have needed this service. If we did then I would like to think it would be available to us.

Trek Tanzania is a 70km, 5 day trek which is happening in October 2017. I am looking forward to seeing African elephants, lions, flamingos and rhinos as we trek while raising valuable funds for this charity. This, for me, is a once in a lifetime experience. Please help me reach my target....none of us know if we will ever need to use HEMS at any point in our lives so let's keep it running.
