I did the Manchester to Blackpool ride before and attempted the 2 mile Great North Swim (but had to be pulled out after a little more than 3/5th of the way.

My dad died of lung cancer and could have been cured if a doctor had only looked at the blatendly obvious "blob" on the Chest X Ray. My partner's mother died of breast cancer and she had a nasty worrying cancer scare herself. 

I wish to support a good cause as a GP who likes to help people and promote health and fitness.
