Story
Push for Prevention is a nationwide fitness challenge to raise money to prevent breast cancer because getting active can help reduce your risk of breast cancer by around 20%!
If you know me, then you know I love chocolate and I hate PE. These are things I need to change.
When I was told I had cancer last year, my surgeon told me I could drastically reduce the chance of getting cancer in my other breast by losing weight. I heard it but I didn't act on it.
I need to lose weight. I need to be more active. I need to eat less.
It's a no-brainer.
Push For Prevention involves doing 1000 minutes of activity in January. Averages out 33 minutes a day. I can do that!
The cancer medication I'm on causes terrible joint pain. I'm sure it's exacerbated by being overweight so I'm hoping if I can get active and lose some weight, not only will I reduce my chance of getting breast cancer but it will also improve my aching hips, knees and ankles.
It's a no-brainer.
So feel free to sponsor me, join me in some exercise or simply keep me on the straight and narrow. Do not buy me or offer me any chocolate. Instead, go on a walk with me, loan me an exercise DVD or treat me to a pair of trainer socks or some smaller knickers.
