In July 2018, completely out of the blue, my 3 year old daughter Nancy had a Transient Ischemic Attack, also known as a Mini Stroke.

When we got to the first hospital, we were told her blood pressure was at 240, almost three times the level it should be, which was due to two arteries away from her heart narrowing to the point it was restricting blood flow to her brain.

After being referred to a second, larger hospital, we were then referred to Great Ormond Street. We ended up spending just over 6 weeks there, where Nancy went through two surgeries and received constant round the clock care.

During our time there, they were amazing, they helped us financially and provided a temporary residence for myself and my other daughter Saffron (9), so we didn't have to travel regularly between Portsmouth and London and were always on hand to help if there were any problems.

To raise awareness for such a great hospital and hopefully repay a little bit of the gratitude we have to the team there, in April 2019, my friend Rob and I are starting at the mighty Portsmouth Football Club and cycling to the Amex stadium in Brighton. From there we will ride on  to all other 19 premiership football clubs, totalling up well over 1000 miles on the way.

We will be contacting each club and hopefully arranging to collect some sort of memorabilia to auction off when we complete the ride too, to add that little bit more to amount we hope to raise and will release further details on all of the plans as we progress.
