The "eddyweather500": Cycling 500 miles across Scotland to Beat Eating Disorders

The Graham Family to Cycle 500 miles across Scotland · 25 July 2018
Anorexia and related eating disorders are powerful, insidious and highly destructive illnesses, with death rates equivalent with those of childhood cancers. A worryingly high and increasing number of teenage girls AND boys are affected by them, among them a member of our own family. Medical resources are generally very limited (or indeed entirely lacking) in ways to treat and tackle these illnesses.
So, this summer I am planning to cycle 500 miles across Scotland (I’m calling it the ‘eddy500’), to raise money for the BEAT charity (a sort of ‘Samaritans’ helpline for teenagers suffering eating
disorders, and for their parents). Starting next week, I will attempt to cycle across every populated island in the Outer Hebrides; In mid-July I will hit the mainland.
My fundraising target is £500, or £1 per mile. Now, you (reading this) are one of my approximate ~500 friends on Facebook! So if everyone donates just £1 (or €1.14 or $1.33), then I can reach my target! How
about it then? Please give generously – donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/eddyweather
With the greatest love and thanks, Eddy (Eddie)
I will post updates on my progress every 100 miles or so. Photo by CRA Photography (2016)
