The Everest In The Alps 2020 Challenge is raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity. Our teams will take on the epic challenge to ascend 8,848 meters (the height of Everest) on skis.

Story

At the beginning of March I will be climbing Everest ..... in the Alps, in a team made up of some great friends, Colin, Mills and Alex.

We will actually be climbing the height of Everest (8848 metres) over four days on skis – this, is "The Everest in the Alps Challenge 2020".
It's been described as the toughest four days on skis, skinning a grueling 2212 vertical metres a day during this monumental ascent, battling the elements and the altitude. It has been likened to running 3 back to back marathons and I am training hard in order to cope with what lies ahead as we average 11 hours a day on the snow.
With a long-held love of skiing and snowy mountains, I can't think of a more exciting and certainly challenging adventure to support such deserved charities, so I have joined up with these good friends to take "Team Norton" to the top and raise funds for vital research.

Please click on the Team Norton icon above to read more about what the challenge entails.

The cause we are supporting is the Brain Tumour Charity and we are aiming to raise as much as we can to support the Silas Pullen Fund and the Everest Centre, both of which work to raise awareness, fund and carry out research to find cures for brain tumours whether in children or adults.
(please see the links to these organisations below or on our team page).

While battling our way to the top I will be driven on by the memory of our friend Tom Bassett who died before Christmas having fought his brain tumour for seven years and in the knowledge that we are helping to find a cure for those who are currently fighting the disease.

You can help by donating as generously as you can. Brain tumour research is terribly underfunded and every pound we can raise will be put to invaluable use in the search for a cure (I must add that all the costs of the challenge have been funded by ourselves so your entire donation will go directly to support the charity).

Thank you in advance and much love to you all.
