Story

Who are we?

We are a team of students from Queen's University Belfast from the Management School (IBML, Accountancy & Business Management) and Archaeology School (Geography). In our team we have Myself (Lisa Stafford), Mogue Lawless, Jodie Jackson and Andi Iglesias and we want to make a positive impact in the Philippines! All profits made from this product will be donated to Ten Foundations Charity.

What are we doing?

Our product concept is to create outdoor and indoor lighting which can be sold in both here in the Philippines and in the UK. The primary material we will use is bamboo; we have selected this material as it is grown in abundance in the Philippines. Other materials will include up-cycled waste such as a glass.

The most ingenious part of our concept is the additional social benefit that we can provide to the rural Philippines by having this product as a livelihood program.

Through the production of our lighting we intend to bring clear solar energy into rural Philippines; this would achieved through a solar light donation scheme.

The concept would therefore be every time you buy light you are helping to create light in the developing world – a very powerful message.

Why you should donate

Our product will not only enhance the livelihoods of those involved in the project, but will have a much deeper and more widespread social impact through our of innovative approach!

We would like to thank you for your donations, every little helps in driving this product onto the marketplace and improving the lives of Filipinos in the poorest regions.
