Four years ago I heard the words most people dread hearing, yet sadly so many hear every week "I'm sorry it's cancer." 

I can still clearly remember sitting in my car in the hospital car park trying to absorb all that had just happened and what the future held.

Thanks to the  wonderful care and support I received from my consultant PG Roy my journey through treatment was a success. Looking back it often feels like a bit of a surreal bubble of time.

The biggest challenge was not the surgery and treatment but the psychological challenges. I was lucky that I approach all things in life with a positive mental attitude. I had a great team of friends supporting me and a surgeon I had total trust and belief in.
