The neuro-rehabilitation unit at Rookwood Hospital provides rehabilitation for people who have suffered brain injuries. The severity of this type of injury means that patients are often in hospital for many months.

Story

I currently work within the brain injury rehabilitation unit and would like to help raise some funds to make the place slightly less clinical and more fun and positive for the patients long and hard journey.

I haven’t tan this distance for a good few years… before I became a mummy so I know it’s going to be tough! My aim is to complete it and raise the funds needed to make a difference on my ward. Please help me with this challenge .

THANK YOU!

The Prop Appeal has been set up to help improve the experience of patients and their families during rehabilitation. From generous donations we have been able to re-vamp the day-room into a more homely environment, upgrade the kitchen where patients are able to relearn cooking and other domestic skills, and upgrade a chalet which reproduces surroundings at home to help patients readjust before being discharged. We are currently raising funds which will assist in improving patient well- being with the purchase of additional equipment and experiences above and beyond what the NHS can provide.
