Story
In a moment of absolute madness I have only gone and entered a MARATHON. Ok, it's not a running marathon it's a walking marathon - but 26.2 miles is still a right old long way if you ask me.
I've supported Cancer Research since a dear friend's mum sadly lost her fight against lung cancer five years ago. I've been wanting to do something more for some time, and when an email popped up last week about the Shine walk I just knew this was the thing I had to do. Now, I'm NEVER going to be able to run a full marathon, but I think I'll just about manage to walk one (famous last words...)
I've chosen to raise money for breast cancer research, and I hope you'll join me in supporting this worthwhile cause. 125 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every day, making it the most common form of cancer in the UK. Incredibly brave friends and family members - including my Nanny - have battled breast cancer and beaten it and it is for them that I am embarking on this mean feat. 8 out of 10 women now survive the disease, but sadly 12,000 women still lose their lives every year to it.
Every pound you donate really does make a difference to Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating breast cancer – go on, sponsor me now!
And don't forget you can Gift Aid it. If you are a UK taxpayer, please please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.
Thank you so much for your support.
