2024 is the year of challenges and for me it’s London Landmarks Half Marathon. As many of you will know, my younger sister Beccy took on a skydive in 2022 for kidney care UK, a charity that helps all those who suffer from CKD (chronic kidney disease) and their families. This is a charity that is close to us as a family, as my older sister Laura lives with the disease.
Kidney Care UK have been helping families and individuals who are affected by kidney disease. The direct patient services they offer are free, and every year they help thousands of families, but they still need support to carry on helping these families and individuals who are affected by CKD. Chronic kidney disease, is a long term condition that means the kidneys don’t function as well as they should, as they are unable to remove waste products from the body. This puts strain on an individual and can make them tired and quite lethargic as a result. So helping these families cope with day to day life is a vital part of what Kidney Care UK do.
Now it’s my turn to take on a challenge, next April, on Sunday the 7th I’m running the London landmarks half marathon in aid of them. This will be my second half marathon after recently completing the MK Winter Half Marathon. I’m hoping to raise £350, so they can help continue all the hard work they do.
