The Bridge is looking for volunteers to wrap up warm and brace themselves for a night out in the elements to raise awareness of homelessness and the reality of sleeping rough. They will see first hand what it might be like to homeless in winter.

Story

At the latest count, there are over 40 people sleeping rough on Leicester's streets. This number is unfortunately growing. At The Bridge Homelessness to Hope, they support those that are on the streets by providing food provisions, support, laundry cleaning, showers and food parcels. As a charity, their services cannot commence without generous donations from fundraising.

My 12 hours under the stars is a reminder that each of us can be impacted by homelessness.

I have spoken with many sleeping rough in both Leicester and London and the account is common.  One event led to their homelessness. Over the years I have met many from various backgrounds. Homelessness is an issue unique to society as a whole, it is not outside of the realm of possibility for anybody.

The money raised by The Bridge will support those impacted whilst they seek to get back on their feet
