Hello! Thanks for visiting my page.
In November I am joining the Hospice of St. Francis and taking on the challenge of trekking through the highest tea plantation in the world, Kolukkumalai, and crossing the foothills of the second highest peak in India. We'll be hiking around 12-17km per day for 8 days, and will be trekking and camping in temperatures ranging anywhere from 0 to 30°C! Following the trek, two days will be spent supporting a children’s hospice on a range of activities to help improve the facilities for the patients and their families.
Together, Holly, Beckie and I make up the team "Because Uber Was Busy" and need to raise just under £10,000 between us (this is purely sponsorship - the cost of the trip has already been paid ourselves).
Holly will be doing the trek in memory of her incredible Grandma José who sadly passed away over Christmas. She experienced first hand the wonderful work the staff at the hospice do, helping her family through a very difficult time.
Sadly, this is one of the many times that the hospice has played such a vital role in the life of someone I know, not to mention the thousands of others that the hospice supports each year. This emphasises how hugely important it is that we raise as much money as we can to ensure that the hospice continues to thrive and ensure that, every day, their nurses and clinical team can help people live their precious lives well, free from pain and able to achieve what's important to them.
A huge thanks in advance to all who are able to sponsor us and help us achieve (and hopefully exceed!) our goal.
